With the crime the City of Santa Ana sees on a regular basis.Do you think the Mayor and City Council should first deal with it's own City's issues first instead of meddling in Arizona's issues?
Santa Ana Mayor Miguel Pulido Voted To Aid a Vending-truck Business In Which His Father Was Involved - Page 1 - News - Orange County - OC Weekly
Possible corruption?
Santa Ana opposes Arizona immigration law | law, arizona, city - News - The Orange County Register Santa Ana opposes Arizona immigration law | law, arizona, city - News - The Orange County Register http://www.voiceofoc.org/blogs/artic...cc4c002e0.html and opposition to Arizona's new laws.Does anyone here see the hypocrisy of this?A non Latino thinking of moving to and or doing business in this City can obviously see that the issues most important to this City are Ethnocentric ones, instead of issues more important to ALL of it's citizens.

Unfortuneately the Counsil used to do a much better job dealing with their own issues. Now the council is populated by several persons whose eyes are on their own career advancment rather than on the good of the city. There should be a rule that local politicians may not advance to broader political office. Thay way you would not have councilpersons who see the position as merely a stepping stone to a higher position. We need them to focus ont eh city once again. They once did and they did a phenomenol job. Mayor Pulido led the charge that turned the City around, but he is not what he once was. It is too bad. Now Santa Ana gevernment is more about race issues, party politics and political advancement. If you want something, donate to campaign funds.

They still have thebuilding blocks and th city has not backslided all that much, but they seem to have lost sight of the reason that they are there.

The police force is still execellent, but underfunded and no longer as well organized. Code enforcement is still good, but again they are diminishing both in funding/manpower and in the supprt that they get from the City. Probably the biggest blow is the decline of the involvment of neighborhood associations and the willingness of hte City leaders to listen to them.

The neighborhood associations are made up of community activists who actaually know the issues in their specific area. The council used to listen to the associations and any person could work through their association to make their neighborhood better. Slowly piece by piece it was working. However race and politics have interfered.

Good post Coldjensens I agree with much of what you stated. The Santa Ana police have their hands full and now that it is obvious Santa Ana's politicians have lost sight of their real jobs hopefully it's citizens can vote in people that will put families and crime suppression first as this problem is spilling out to neighboring Cities like Costa Mesa,Anaheim and G. Grove who already have their own problems to deal with.

Man dies after being found shot in crashed car | police, dead, call - News - The Orange County Register Man dies after being shot.
In an effort to be PC .No description of perps given in the 2nd story "possibly gang related".This is why neighboring City Costa Mesa is declaring itself a rule of law city. It's still early in California and this is just a start for today's statistics.

Santa Ana has so many issues and prostitution seems to be such a huge problem in my neighborhood. We are constantly cleaning up our cul-de-sac because the prostitutes and johns throw their dirty condoms in our street. We have young children in our neighborhood who use the circle to play baseball fly kites, ride bikes etc and the Mayor and city council haven't been much help at all. We are constantly calling the police to step up and patrol this area more but they say they can't because of budget cuts. Costa Mesa is my hometown and they sure have a different way of doing things which seems to help the community. I am not playing favorites I would just love to see the communtiy and police, council memebers, etc come together to make Santa Ana safer for our children

Detectives investigating 6 Gang related Shootings and Santa Ana eliminates Police overtime.

Santa Ana eliminates police overtime | overtime, police, pay - News - The Orange County Register

The reason why more crimes will probably be commited and remain unsolved. Yet is is still a
Sanctuary City for Criminal Illegal Aliens and their offspring. As you can see Lawbreakers are given the priority.

Should I conclude that the influx of illegals has made the city a safer place?
