Hi Everyone, I am moving to Newport Beach in about 2 weeks from NJ and have been looking around for furniture online and in the stores. I think I may just wait till I'm out on the West Coast to purchase items rather than ship it across the US! Does anyone know other websites or STORES in OC besides freecycle.org (a free online yard sale) overstock.com, target, ebay, and ikea for purchasing discounted furniture? THANKS!

dakicka,

Check out "The Great Indoors"

http://www.thegreatindoors.com/

They have a location in Irvine, not too far from NB.

There are a lot of new furniture stores in the FV area, right off the 405 at Euclid exit. Failing that, of course there's always IKEA.

Oh, yes. A lot of times I will go to the one in Costa Mesa after church on Sunday. Their cafeteria on the second floor is GREAT, especially their breakfast for $1.99.

Default Craig's List

I love IKEA, Great Indoors and Urbanism in Newport Beach for Potterybarn type style if you're looking for new furniture.
I find some really great pieces on Craigslist.com ...you can find your local area. My friend bought a gorgeous sofa from Century furniture, for $200.

I moved to Laguna Beach from Long Island, NY and took all my furniture from a 5 bedroom house...I regret that! There are some great consignment shops as well! FABULOUS styles and prices!

Love Ikea

Other affordable Furniture stores :

Metropolix Home in Laguna Hills at Avenida De La Carlota st.
I bought my dining room from there ,solid wood ,contemporary clean style ,with 8 chairs and paid $1000 (including tax ,and shipping),but that was a year ago .

Easy Life Furniture in Laguna Hills also at Avenida De Carlota ,very affordable ,but not all of their furniture is contemporary .In the same street there is a store called ...I forgot the name ..I think it is Factory direct or something like this ,they carry the most affordable furniture in the area ,bought a contemporary brown top grain leather sofa last year for $450(was on sale)from there .

Joh Sylvsters Home in Costa Mesa (forgot the exact address)is another affordable choice ,with mostly contemporary style.

One of my fav store (out of OC ) located in SD (worths the drive)is West Elm ,it is not that affordable..but not that expensive too .You can check their website :westelm.com

Another very affordable(including shipping )is a furniture store in Tx called Eurway.Even with the shipping cost and the white gloves service (setting the furniture at ur home),this store is still more affordable than many other contemporary furniture stores here in Cali .This is their website :http://www.eurway.com/

You can also check Cost Plus World Market in MV,sometimes they get some good furniture pieces though they're not mainly a furniture store .Their site is :http://www.worldmarket.com/home.jsp
