My husband and I want to move to western Oregon, not too far south from Portland. We are considering Junction City--anyone have comments on it? Have lived in Seattle so rain is not a problem.

Only thing i know is some of the friends on www.oregonfishingforum.com

Best of luck on where you choose.

Junction City doesn't come close to meeting the "not too far south of Portland" criterion. It's almost all the way down to Eugene.

I went to school in Eugene, and one of my classmates lived in Junction City. If you are considering that, you should think about Eugene or Corvallis. Eugene has a large retiree population. I'd imagine Corvallis is about the same. JC is just a very small town with not much to write home about.

Actually, we are now looking more at Corvallis. Sounds like there's a lot to do there. Not considering Eugene at all.

Stay out of Eugene unless you homosexual. Heavy "other" life style. From Seattle you wouldn't like it. Corvallis is better but Junction City is in the middle and a nice quint little town with a strong loyalty of scandanavian peoples. I like it. Good retired base. In the heart of fishing country and more then the dirty Junction City ponds. Give us a visit.
