-I'm tired of the bugs and humidity of VA Beach, so a place that doesn't have many pests, low humidity, rarely goes above 90 or snows much, sunny, clear days, but just enough rain that things are green, and experiences the Fall season

-A population under 200k with houses not exceeding 350k and houses that aren't right up on their neighbor (.25 acres+)

-Good schools, low crime, sense of community, fairly friendly, nearby recreation (bike paths, trails, boating/lakes)

-Near bigger cities, not rural

-Near IT jobs

Thanks for any help

Check the California forum for the central California coast. Those wants just aren't realistic for the Pacific Northwest.

I concur with Brenda. Anyplace gorgeous and green in Oregon will be rainy for about 9 months per year- the rumors about the PNW weather are not exaggerations.

You need to be East of the Cascade range to get mostly sunny and dry but there is no population center that would have strong demand for IT jobs.

I'd look into areas such as Walla Walla or Tri Cities in WA but summers can exceed 90's.

Santa Cruz, CA.
Much more affordable these days. I spent ten years there in the 80s and 90s and I highly recommend the place. The schools are rather pathetic, though, but may have improved with the trend toward older parents.

Thank you. I have never been to OR. It looks beautiful, but I'll look more into CA.

I'm sorry officer, what do you mean the state of California is gone and I'll have to turn around?!
