We are thinking about visiting Bend end of September 1st of October. We live in Sacramento and we will be driving. I see the average high is around 68. What is the chance for precipitation during that time. Last time we visited was 4 years ago in the summer. I'm sure Bend has changed in 4 years.

Yes and no. The boom busted. Rain in Bend is rare and it should be hotter than hadies in September.

You must remember the averge is based on a high of 105 and a low of -20. The September average is no where near 65 except maybe at night.

The end of September is gorgeous here. You're unlikely to have any rain and the colors will be turning to gold and red. The mosquitos should be gone. It's a great time to be here. (the nights will get chilly - prepare for warm days and cold nights)

September is more like Hot days, and Cold nights, and the bug hoards don't go away until the end of October.

Late September, early October are wonderful times to visit Oregon. Bring a jacket though. It will likely be chilly in the evenings, and it could rain. Most likely, it will be beautiful.

Must depend on where you are - by the lakes, sure, plenty of bugs. Here in Bend, I was out walking the dog the other night at 9:30 and not one bite (neither bug nor dog bite)

LOL! Yes, a bit detailed, but I liked it. One can really go gonzo with weather data these days. Point is, it should be pretty temperate, but the nights could be chilly.
