I just found out that "Dog Fancy" magazine has listed Lincoln City in the top 10 as a dog friendly city. I've never been more proud.

Unfortunately, some visitors think that they and their dogs own the beach. My neighbor and I walk on the beach every day, and it's very unpleasant to have unleashed dogs come running up to us, jumping on us. It's quite frightening, and the owners don't seem to understand that while, they know that their dogs are "friendly", how are we supposed to know this? Some of the dogs that are running loose on the beach appear quite menacing.

I agree! Just because a city is "dog-friendly", doesn't mean that people should ignore the leash laws. Many times I will be walking on the beach with my dog (who is on a leash) and a strange dog will come running over. Once, my dog was attacked by one and it was a scary experience. As a dog lover, though, I love that Lincoln City is a dog-friendly place to live. I wish we could educate people who don't obey the laws though...
