I forgot if I posted yesterday about doing a full season album of the Oregon sky, because I wrote and scrapped it more than once, since I lost a photo. But I found a 640 pixel version I left on a photography forum.

Anyhow, I may do an album for a full season of the Oregon sky, 1 photo per day to show that the "68 clear day" stats for Oregon don't tell the story. It's not as dreary as some say. 4/10 cloudcover and above doesn't count in the clear day stats. Anyhow, here is an image of an Oregon sunrise I took driving between Portland and Salem. Not one of our sunsets, but a sunrise. That's a February sky, and it looked like that in 360 degrees.

You cannot get skies like this without cloud cover.

This is absolutely breathtaking and I see alot of sunsets/sunrises living in Arizona. Thanks for sharing because we are considering a move to Oregon (coastal) and the dark days are a bit worrisome.

Thanks. I tore my office apart looking for a backup disc with the image yesterday. If only I had the large file for enlargement. The image is not edited. Hopefully, some file in one of my computers still has the original. Anyway, it won't be the last one

These photographs are sensational. I couldn't agree more, either: I've seen sunsets here that rival any on Maui. And the storm clouds are fearsome and majestic. Oregon has great sky!

In NYC, where I lived during my teens, I began to think the sky was always a pale hazy blue-gray. Never did I see bright clear skies, voluptuous cumulus clouds, or startling colorful sunrises/sunsets. The sky there was quite blase!

Thanks for sharing your 'art.'

Whoa. For a minute there I thought it was one of those nuclear bomb test shots that they show on the History Channel. Great picture.

Furyu: That is nice to know! We have lived on Maui for ages but are being forced out by the insane cost of living. Oregon is our destination! Glad to know we won't sacrafice amazing sunsets when we leave!!!!
