Hi
I have an interesting question,,,,, After almost 25 tears....Years away from my homeland of Canada my children will soon be raised ( at least moved out ) and I would LOVE to find a nice quite place to call home, I am not to Proud or Foolish to care in what Country Or area I am in. I am LOOKING for an acreage maybe 5 acers minimum and I would like Most modern conveniences I would like to be in a rural-secluded setting with THIS IS THE TOUGH ONE, MILD-MODERATE weather, I have spent 3years in the Canadian Arctic and Know Harsh And I have Spent about the same in both California and Florida. So what I am saying is I am adaptable to most any weather.
LOOKING FOR MOST ANY ADVISE!!
If you are positive or negative or sarcastic Go ahead I asked for it!!
PS I also have a sense of Humor..

Do you have a lot of money? If you can afford a house in Southern California, you can afford what you want in Oregon. For that matter, if you can afford a house in Vancouver, BC, you are probably in pretty good shape. All it takes is money.

Be aware that rural people don't live as long as urban people. Mostly that's because there isn't much medical care in remote areas. You probably want to stay fairly close to an urban area, so you don't get hung with 3 or 4 hour commutes to the doctor. That's a concern for older people.

In Oregon, check the Forest Grove, McMinnville, Salem areas, or on the other side of the Valley, Molalla-Estacada. Eh, that last is pronounced esta-CAY-da.
