Well, you can learn to add, first off - that's 22 mph hour over and not a minor speeding ticket. If you were issued a ticket, the ticket will have directions on the back for how to pay it. There will also be a phone number to call for more info.

The Oregon DMV does have a diversion program, which you might be eligible for, which would require you to attend a class or classes to have the ticket expunged. That might not be true for 22 mph hour.

Otherwise, you've done your aunt no favors, and it's likely her insurance will go up if she keeps you on it. Having raised two sons through this stage, one of them did something similar and he learned to walk and take public transportation for a year.

The bail amount is written on the ticket. That will probably be the fine. What should you do? Drive slower.

I can't rep you any more Larry. Totally agree. Learn to drive slower. I think when hit 20 miles over the speed limit it is a $200-$300 ticket.

Take your medicine. Pay the fine, and when they increase your aunt's insurance for years because of this, pay the difference for however long it stays up there. If they don't raise her insurance, get your own, so that when you do this again, you'll be the only one negatively impacted.

I've got to agree with what has been said so far. Pay the fine, learn to drive slower.

That said I think the 65 MPH limit on the interstate is a little low. In Idaho it's 75 MPH outside of urban areas, 65 MPH through the city.

Moderator cut: Let's not open that can of worms

You're 21. An adult. Time to be responsible and accept the consequences of your own actions.
And you should reimberse your aunt for any raise in her insurance and also get your own policy.
