A while back I remember someone recommending a place to eat after visiting Crater lake. Some place for an early dinner. I have not been there, so I am guessing we should be ready by the afternoon. I cannot find the posting so I was hoping someone can make some suggestions.
Thanks

I was at Crater Lake about a year ago and it is just beautiful. My son lives in Redmond. I can't answer your question though. It's a scary drive getting up there. If I recall it's about 7,000' elevation.

Which way are you coming in and out? Are you coming from Medford, Bend or Klamath Falls?

Also - the Rim Road is not open yet and the north entrance is not open either, only the Hwy 62 entrance in the south. I haven't even heard any guesses as to when it will all open this year.

We are going to be driving from Medford. I think from Crater lake we would like to head out toward Roseburg. I think there is a good place to eat on the way to Roseburg and I hope someone can chime in with a name.
Thanks

The north entrance to the park is normally not open until the 4th of July, and this year maybe not even then because of the huge snow pack. If you leave by the south entrance, a good map or GPS will get you to Canyonville. The Seven Feathers Casino has both a buffet and the Camas Room, which is a 5 star restaurant.

If the north entrance is open, you might stop at Diamond Lake.

The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is good.

Dining out in Roseburg is a working class experience. A local favorite is Karen's Coffee Cup on Diamond Lake Blvd. just as you get into town. I hope you like meat loaf and mashed potatoes. McMenamins generally has good fish and chips, plus their burger menu. There is a sushi place right up the street from them on Cass, I forget the name. The best Chinese in town is at Lee's on North Stephens, but don't expect ambiance. It's in a converted drive-in and the car hop stalls are still there. No, you do not get Chinese car hop service, though that would be really cool. The food is great. The black bean sauce comes highly recommended.

My guess is that the OP is referring to a past review of Becky's Cafe at the Union Creek Resort, which is supposed to be famous for pies (I've never eaten there, but my neighbors say it's good).

Becky's! I forgot about that place. I used to camp at Union Creek all the time. Beauuutiful area. And yes, Becky's is pretty decent.

In Roseburg I forgot Alexander's, a pretty good Greek restaurant. Authentic Greek food, reasonable prices. It's downtown on Jackson.

Becky's is good food. I try to stop there whenever I'm down that way. Right now is about the time to get their fresh huckleberry pie.

I sure hope the OP is planning on spending more than part of one day at Crater Lake...
