A hippie town can mean many different things. To a recent college graduate or millennial or those of us at retirement age who grew up in the 60's.
Would need a description of your vision to be of any real assistance.

Exactly. Lots of so-called "hippie towns" in California are full of multi-million dollar mansions and located in affluent enclaves like Marin County.

Coos bay has a bunch of old Hippies. A lot of them still wearing old tie-dyes, smoking cannabis on the corners while panhandling. lol

Default Ha!

i havent seen a "hippie" in oregon for years. there are no more "hippies". if by small hippie town you mean incredibly neglected by the state, chalk full of tweakers, no work except summertime souvenir shop jobs, and overpriced junk sold by yuppies wearing tie dye they bought out of an oriental trading co magazine...the coast should suit you fine. i assume you are a very liberal person (which im not bashing, im a moderate libertarian who shares some of your values). if this is true you will find the general attitudes you're looking for in the portland area or eugene area and nowhere else. this state is actually quite conservative east of the cascades and south of eugene. and like i said just because our "liberal" towns seem that way doesnt mean its the hippie paradise you're picturing like mendocino, eugene, the haight, etc...used to be. that movement has died and given way to trash. check out hot springs arkansas if you want a small inviting hippie town...
