In the long running battle over which state has the worst drivers, I found this article:

Worst drivers in America by state - DailyFinance

GMAC tested drivers in all 50 states. Guess where Oregon ended up?

Ranking drivers based on their knowledge of the written driving test reminds me of ranking how ‘manly’ cities are by per capita salty snack consumption, interesting but of little value.

I couldn’t find a list of states ranked by accidents, but I found a list of traffic fatalities by state. The latest numbers from 2008 shows both New York and New Jersey with very low rates and Oregon somewhere in the middle.

"A whopping85 percent could not identify the correct action to take when approaching a steady yellow traffic light(hint: it involves the brake pedal). Many drivers also remained uncertain about safe following distances."

We may rank well overall but we sure have alot that think Yellow means speed up and 2 foot following distance is the correct answer

Took the test - missed 1 - odds of death when thrown from car

Hmmm..."when thrown"...if someone else does the throwing, there's a pretty good chance that you're dead already, particularly if where you're being thrown is "off a bridge" or "into a river"--so the percentage in this case would be close to 100%. But I don't think that would vary from state to state.

That's why I wasn't too worried about getting that question wrong!
the question was something about being thrown (their words) from the vehicle in an accident
