I was wondering if there where any areas that are largely populated by Japanese or if there is something like a Japantown (like in california). Also if there isn't a population somewhere in Oregon are there Japanese tourists that come through to look at places? I heard of the Portland Japanese Garden and the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center, are there any other places like museums, schools, centers, resturants, events, classes and so on?

I only ask because I love Oregon and while I won't make the descion to move there until I actually visit a few times. But my major in college is Asian Studies and I am interested in the Japanese culture. Please let me know. Thanks!

If you want to get into the tourism business, there is a huge opportunity sitting there waiting for anyone with some get-up-and-go. Oregon has always concentrated on domestic tourists, but with the falling dollar, foreign tourism could be a real cash cow. You could get rich.
