Hello We are planning to move to Oregon next spring or summer from Fl. Had it with the heat and hurricanes! Is there an area in Or. that has less rainfall than others? Also what towns should we stay away from? Thanks for your help.

Southern oregon and eastern oregon have less rain. There are no real big cities in those parts. Medford would be the largest city. You can find some nice small cities that have reasonably priced home in eastern Oregon. You would get snow, cold and heat over there.

Myself I'd prefer the weather in southern Oregon if you want a place with less rain. I guess finding jobs can be a problem for some.

Head east of the Cascades and the other 2/3 of Oregon is high desert. Most people think of Astoria when they think Oregon - very rainy and wet. I'm in the military and I hear a lot of misconceptions about my home state - I just show them pictures of Malheur or Hells Canyon and they can't believe it's the same state!

Southern Oregon gets between 25 and 35 inches of rain avg.
Some yrs. more rain, some yrs. more cold.

In Grants Pass our town motto is "Its the Climate"

Some of my family is moving here from Port Charles FL., I guess the humidity has gotten tough to bare over the yrs.

We have very low humidity in the spring and summer months. Any area from the California border Sunny Valley would give you a drier climate with Greenery, shopping, activities, and friendly people.

best wishes
