What's your definition of "a lot?" Would an average of six feet of rain a year be considered "a lot" in your eyes (we've had over 10 feet annually some years)? But it's really the cloud cover, not the rain, that is hard to deal with. 95% of the time that it's overcast, it's NOT raining. That bottom picture is an accurate picture of what the coast typically looks like in summer.
