I just moved here from the Bay Area, unemployed for the first time in over 17 years. I'm appealing my unemployment, but, I'm still eager to get back to work. I used to work for Big O Tires as well as have some experience in creating spreadsheets. Where would be a good place to start looking, Agency, state level. I live in the Wilsonville area if that helps.

Thanks for any feedback
Zane

Employment office. Les Schwab. You picked a humdinger of a state to be unemployed in.

Depends on where he's at out here.

I have noticed an uptick in "help wanted" signs in and about Hillsboro and Beaverton. Not so sure Portland itself has that many jobs, though.

I would suggest you stay where you are in Wilsonville and look towards Portland. That would be your best bet for jobs.

Lots of warehouse work down in Willsonville, also some in Tigard.

Costco has a tire shop. Include them in your list of possible employers.

I second the recommendation of Les Schwab, the firm has a stellar reputation as an employer and for customer service.

Another vote for Les Schwab. Unless much has changed still a great company to work for. Key word is work. Production = rewards. Still the best service in the industry.
