We need to know if you have to take a written test when you change you drivers license to this OR state? How long do you have before you must change them?

Yes, there is a written test and a medium-large fee. They do have booklets in the lobby. I think you legally have one month to get your new license. If you are from California, I recommend getting your plates changed right away, as there still is stigma against Californians (even though most of them have been pushed out of California due to the same things Oregon is now experiencing-overcrowding, illegal aliens, crime, pollution, higher prices, etc.)

And the written test is taken on the computers at the DMV but if you prefer the old school pencil and paper test, you have to request that way.

Don't worry about changing your plates right away. The negative stigma towards Californians is mostly hype. It's only the stupid, lower classes who think that way anymore. When I moved up here, no one gave me any guff for my California plates.

The DMV wants you to change it all right away, because they make money. We waited for a few months for our licenses. I kept my California plates for a year and I don't think people were rude on the road because of it.

Your going to love the process compared to California.

Test, picture, license...all in the same day.

In So. Oregon, your wait is so short, hardly a line.

Note; Get the book and read it, there are some rural road rules that are very interesting.

Registration is cheap compared to CA. $50 for 2 yrs......
