Can you reccomend what caliber clam gun I should use?
I'm thinking a nice stainless steel double-action 130mm with mother of pearl grips and a 3 foot overall length should be just about right.

That'll leave a hole.

Of course carrying around a loaded gun of that caliber is heavy and foolish, so I'll hang a 15 round magazine at my waist to hold my loaded shells.
Or a Tek 9?

A Tek 9 is not going to get the job done.

To get a razor clam, you need a 130mm hole about a foot to a foot and a half deep in hard wet sand.
A 9 just doesn't have that kind of size or penetrating power and I would worry about the salt, sand, and water jamming it up.

I used a plastic gun for a long time, but recently I purchased a Stainless Steel one and will never go back.

While every example above addresses Meth, and I agree Meth is a problem, they are all generic in scope and none address Seaside or the Oregon coast at all.

Plus they are all close to ten years old, and in some the data is almost twenty years old...

Maybe you should do your own research then and not depend on someone else for your knowledge.
