Last night we couldn't see the lake, much less see across it, and this morning we can actually make out hazy Pelican and McLoughlin beyond the lake, so it is an improvement.

Is that the smoke from our fires? It was really thick, here.

I think so - one of the things I don't like about the Klamath area is how poor the news coverage is (I don't watch TV news so I rely on newspaper websites for local news). Checking the fire sources on the web, I don't see a more local fire.

It's hard to get up to date info. Yesterday afternoon, when the winds picked up, it got so dark and thick so quickly. It was blowing right at us and in your direction. Pretty scary stuff.

The Douglas Complex fires have grown to 10,000 acres. My wife drove through Glendale and said, "It's a mess." Lots of evacuees are hanging around town staying as close to their homes as possible.

The skies, here, are blue this morning. I know that can change quickly, as it did yesterday. Hopefully, they got a good handle on things last nite. The helicopters dropped water until dark....non-stop.

Howdy Larry.

Since these lightning strike fires started Friday 7-26, thankfully I haven't seen any smoke here on the mountain. There is no wind. It's sunny blue skies right now here.

Be Safe Everyone...

Looks like most are present and accounted for. Good to know you're all safe.

I agree. CD could use a subsection for the Rogue Valley, or at the very least, a Southern Oregon section.
