I would like to thank both Priscilla Martin and Minervah for their reflective thought process and Steve97415 for the educational snapshot and a brief history of early settlement. I have a letter in with my allergist for input into a couple areas with Oregon being one of them. I am looking for a smaller, friendly town where my health will improve with availability to art & creative folks, organic foods, intellectual stimulation, spirituality centers like Unity, community interest groups that welcome new members and ways that I may contribute. What are the needs of the smaller towns & communities?

The climate here can fluctuate as much as 60 degrees in a few hours .... my system needs something more moderate. Moving here from being at sea level my whole life was a shock to my system. In addition, I have physical limitations, and since I am not getting younger, that makes it even more important for me to locate a town that I will hopefully have the rest of my life to enjoy.

I was a surprised to view formatting code in brackets in my post. I do not know how that occurred or how to undo as I did not utilize any formatting tools. Maybe it is somehow stuck in HMTL mode as Hamellr pointed out.

Not an issue unless you really want to read it. I fixed it for you so others could make sense of it.

Did you write the original post in word/text processing program and then cut-and-paste into the CD window? That is usually how formatting ends up in there.

Good point. I tend to forget about OIT as Klamath Falls is a bit outside the western Oregon mainstream. So southern Oregon has TWO institutions of higher learning. It's almost as if a single large university were split apart for different academic emphases: SOU for liberal arts, and OIT for science and technology.
