This year has been so darn gorgeous I am floating on air.

Here in the Rogue Valley, colors are turning, days are mild, and nights are crisp. New England might have us for color, but not for climate this year. Almost perfect

Family went hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail this weekend, through shimmering stands of aspen. Damn near perfect.

Anyone else enjoying this weather?

We've been driving back and forth over Hwy 140 as we move and work on both houses and the drive is gorgeous. It's getting a little LONG at this point....

The wet September was more the exception. Now the weather has returned to a normal pattern. A couple weeks of dry weather in October are not unusual. The autumn storms don't start rolling in until November. Enjoy it while it lasts. In my opinion, October is the finest month of the year in western Oregon.

Sure didn't start out that way.
One of the worst pacific storms in recent memory ended the month of September and the first 7 day of October didn't give me much hope that we would even have an autumn.

But since about the 10th things have dried out and warmed up and farther north in the Willamette Valley we are enjoying one of the longest stretches of sunny, mild weather I have seen in an October since I can remember. I have been able to get in a second harvest of tomatoes and we are still pulling corn. Normally the last of either sighs to a stop in mid September and if the weather holds we'll be able to grab some more red peppers......

I am absolutely loving it and but for the fact we got very little rain (other than our waterlogged September) this year, I would be perfectly happy if it continued through December.

It started out a bit rough here in Central Oregon, but the last few weeks have been absolutely glorious! I love October in Bend.

Totally loving this fall. This is my 9th fall in Oregon. This one just seems like it's been the prettiest yet.

I love the mushrooms, too. We have a ton of them on our property. Our neighbors pull theirs but we leave ours!
