First let me tell you I was born and raised in OR and have been away for quite sometime..GS and HS in Portland and College in Central OR. I love the high plains and the "dry side". I've visited NE OR and fell in love years ago.
I'm an outdoors person, horses, dogs ect. my goal is to have a small mini-farm.
I'd like to live somewhere in the Wallowa valley.
I'd like to know about the local health care (older and do have health issues), commutes into La Grande for work from out lying areas. Majority lifestyles i.e. ranching/farming? I do know that up into Joseph ect. has become more of an artist colony which is ok as I'm an amature photo/graphics kinda person. Also, what about DSL, cell phone range. Grocery stores, big box stores. ect.

Love to hear from folks who actually live in the area from around the Baker City area all the way up into the heart of the valley i.e. Joseph.
