Hi all,
In a few months I will be moving to Corvallis and will need to find a place to rent, preferably in the NW part of town since my kid will be attending Crescent Valley High School. Any recommendations on apartment complexes in that area? Any experiences you've had with any specific property management companies? What to do, what not do to?
Oh yes, my rental budget is up to $1000.
Much appreciated. Stay warm!!
cheers )

Witham Hill Oaks and a dozen others come up on a search by city (Craig's List) and //www.city-data.com/forum/orego...corvallis.html in this previous City-Data post.

Thanks Steve P
Yes, I actually have a few apt. complexes on my list, including that one. Was in Corvallis during Thanksgiving week and drove around to see this and that a bit. Have you heard anything about Witham Village?? They are on NW Walnut Blvd, I drove by... for some reason I never see them advertise on craigslist... could that be a bad or good sign? They seem affordable.
Sorry to be so specifics hungry but I am moving from out of state and that means dealing through internet a lot. Also, I am a very get-your-research-on, plan ahead person. Like to minimize the drama and maximize my humble buck
thanks! and happy New Year!!

Tookieclothespin: Did you ever get the info you were looking for? I see that this thread died out with suggestions to do additional research rather than any info being provided as is so often the case on this site. It COULD be such a wealth of great info for folks moving into new areas. I, too, am considering Corvallis, along with Salem, but am finding getting any good info difficult. I realize most of it is merely opinion, but some honest opinions based on real life experience living there can be so helpful to add to one's research. Please post if you got more info! Thanks.

Get there no later than May. Starting in June, apartments get snatched up rapidly for incoming students.

Hi there,
I didn't really get much more info on here. I took a trip back up to Corvallis a few months later, in April of this year after speaking with some property managers and scheduling appointments to view them. I think I saw about 5 places and rented one of them in the end. It worked out rather nicely: the complex I liked the best was going to have an opening at the end of June and since my moving date was early July I was able to put holding deposit down and move in when I was ready, which was this last July. I didn't get to see the actual unit I was going to move into, but it turned out to be ok.
I like the place just fine for now, if you need more info, send me a message. Good luck in your search and move

Thanks, Tookieclothespin - I've decided what I'm going to have to do is make a trip to Oregon and take a few days to cruise around to see how it looks and feels to me. Appreciate your msg.
