Don't know if they still have it but there used to be a very cool celtic music festival in Yachats, Oregon.

Actually Woodsmoke is close. It's Every Friday, not every month, and it is just outside Falls City on Kings Valley Highway at Cooper Hollow Road. Just look for Guthrie Park (Named after my Wife's Great Grandfather). It's held in the Gym building at the old Guthrie School that he built.

Bring your acoustic instruments and join the circle, or just come listen and tap your toes.

Default Favorite Festival

With the late spring to autumn season approaching I was wondering if anyone wanted to name their favorite festival(s) and why so some of us may go and enjoy our wonderful state.

As for me, a couple of years ago we were traveling down the coast to see the Redwoods and stumbled on the Cranberry Festival in Bandon. So we stopped and stayed the day. Had a great time. Nice parade (for a small town) and the historic downtown section was decked out and it was a lot of fun. This year it will be Sept. 9-11.

I'll chime in.

Yes, always love Bandon's Cranberry Festival but also love Florence's Rhody Festival (5/20-5/22 this year), especially the Parades.

I realize this is ancient history, but the weekly thing at Guthrie Park is not a "bluegrass festival." It's a local jam.

Here comes summer. There are more.

The Sisters Folk Festival. They get some pretty well known acts. https://www.sistersfolkfestival.org/

Nobody mentioned the Rose Festival in Portland? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland_Rose_Festival

Oregonians love their festivals. Some are even in the winter, like Christmas fairs. Here's a list of several hundred, but it hasn't been updated to the 2016 dates. Pick an event that looks good and google it for the date this year.
