Dope is a derogatory term used by those having an intention to demonize marijusna. It is illegal in the US to protect certain corporate monopolies.
Don't worry, by his definition alcohol and cigarettes are dope too, since they are illegal for those under 21 and 18.

Lol, according to him, if a 17 year old smokes a cigarette or chews tobacco, they are "doing dope", ha ha ha.

I think using the term for marijuana really dates a person. Everybody I know under 45-50 uses the term ubiquitously with heroin.

^^^^^Nonetheless, it is still a derogatory term, intended to demonize cannabis/marijuana. Nothing wrong with that per se, anyone can demonize anything they want to, but it IS a demonizing term.

The word marijuana was initially intended as a derogatory term:

@drum bro....in the minds of some people, it is better to be up tight and fearful. It makes you easier to control, and more likely to respect authority, and do what you are told to do.

Yeah, but again. He is saying that even where it is legal, it is illegal for people under 21 which makes it dope when they use it.

Under that definition, cigarettes and alcohol are dope too when used by minors.

Not saying it isn't technically correct, but colloquially the word dope is not used in that fashion.

Dope is slang. The meaning varies. The only real use of the word that I know of is the original sense of a paste preparation, like pipe dope. Model cement was called dope. Glue sniffers got dopey sometimes. Boxers got dopey after they had been hit in the head too often, the rope-a-dope stumble bums. It became synonymous with stupid, and someone who just couldn't understand simple concepts was called a dope. Pain killers were called dope, and you doped an athlete or race horse to enhance their performance. There have been many doping scandals in professional sports and horse racing.

In general, slang should be avoided in public discourse, since the meaning is unclear and subject to misinterpretation. In fact, anyone who uses slang to make a point is a dope.

It is illegal for everyone in the USA. Some states just allow illegal activity.

Wrong. The constitution NEVER delegates authority to the federal government to regulate what chemicals a person can consume or possess.

Tenth amendment:
Quote:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
The federal prohibition is not constitutional. The feds will say it is, but of course they will say they are acting within the constitution, even when they are not. That is the whole reason that prohibition of alcohol required an amendment to the constitution, the power to regulate it had to be delegated to the feds, or it was a state issue.

The same applies for cannabis, except the feds decided to simply ignore the constitution.

Their prohibition is illegal under the constitution, they just allow their own illegal activity.
