We've looked into Idaho, but Oregon seems to be the best for us for jobs and weather. We just want to make sure that it's safe for us. My husband works nights sometimes and he doesn't want to have to worry about when us he's not home.

If I recall, you were interested at one point in moving to Eugene. It's fairly safe here in spite of being a fairly "liberal" city.

I've never felt unsafe in Oregon. Our biggest issue here is the tweakers so we have a lot of petty theft, like breaking into cars. I wouldn't feel unsafe anywhere in Eugene personally, but safety is a very subjective thing.

If you go to the FBI site, you can pull up crime rates for each city in Oregon that you might be thinking about.

Just remember to put the data into context. I mean Eugene has a really high rape rate, but there is a huge university there where most of those occur.

Living in Eugene, your person will likely be quite safe with some pretty basic discretion.

Your bike, however, is in mortal danger if not properly protected.

That is so '70s, those people have retired, cashed out their million-dollar homes and bought with cash mansions wherever they retired to.
