We have our son with us who works for Apple Computer as Tech Support from his bedroom in our home. His home. He is in the Apple College program so there is no job guarantee afterwards

Are there any towns in Oregon which house large Tech Companies? We are looking for a small town but would like it to be located near a techy town if possible so he can drive to work if needed. And also near mountains if that is possible, we love to cycle and the hills are more appealing to us. Not sure if this exists or not? thanks so much

Hillsboro is the techy town in Oregon. Forest Grove is small and nearby.

If techy and outdoorsy is important...

Join the GTA and live in Hood River or The Dalles.
Welcome to the GTA - Gorge Technology Alliance
This is a great group (there is a Jr College campus in each city.

For more dough (no income taxes) and edu benefits... live 5 min north (Free college instead of wasting time in High School in WA state (and Hawaii)). Boeing bought Insitu (White Salmon / Bingen, WA), so there are some great tech jobs (drones) in an excellent adventure destination (Mtns, Hiking / wind surfing / kite boarding / biking). Lots of engineers and the like work for fun! Better weather, and only 1 hr to Portland.

Bend has a lot of High tech for population / workforce. (Trust fund babies starting companies)
College there as well.
