You're right there is nothing important about the biggest bodies of fresh water in the world or the fact that as many goods and services move through the ports of the Great Lakes as any other area of the country. LOL I guess Toronto is just tiny little fly over city? LOL What an ignorant comment!

To see all of the beauty of Oregon you sometimes must travel long distances.

For anybody who has never seen Hells Canyon I posted something on the Oregon photo thread:

I am trying to watch basketball calmly and watch this video with relaxing music. I wonder if this is the place that has the Lord Of The Rings scenery. Yup! I need to get out!

What airport was this, and what led you to this feeling?? You do realize that people found in airports are from all over the place, unless you are writing about airport workers, who may or may not have been Kentuckians.

Did you see and experience anything of Kentucky beyond the airport?? Please don't condemn the entire state and its people on the basis of this one very limited experience.

Most Kentuckians are friendly and ready to help visitors with suggestions of places to stay, dine, visit, etc. Lexington's Kentucky Horse Park was the home of the World Equestrian Games just a few years ago, and visitors came from all over the world - and all were welcomed warmly. Lexington and Louisville are very diverse cities, and while some of the rest of Kentucky is less so, people are generally courteous and welcoming towards everyone they encounter - unless others give them reason to be otherwise, and then it's usually just keeping a distance.

And why toss in West Virginia, based on a bad experience in an airport in Kentucky?? Sounds like some stereotyping may be going on - on your part.

It was at an airport on the border. We had racist remarks made so it was pretty obvious and they had an accent that led me to believe they were from Kentucky. Sorry, that's my personal experience. I am sure Kentucky gets enough tourists so it won't miss me! There are too many beautiful places in the world and I enjoy traveling so I won't run out of places to visit.

Then keep NZ at the top for your "Lord of the Rings" scenery. It is great. Buy a campervan and stay the 6 months of USA winter, If you are still under age 31, you can get a 1 yr work visa !
Go for it

Hells Canyon is amazing, it's really interesting how different it looks from up top versus down on the river looking up the sides of it. The Wallowas is also an Oregon gem, it's the most underrated mountain range in the Pacific NW.

That was essentially OHIO. That was CVG. Anyways, that is a ridiculous stereotype. Louisville would shock the heck out of you, and so would Lexington actually.
