Oregon's commercial airports took a big hit during and after the 2008 financial crisis, with several of them losing passenger service altogether in addition to a steep fall in passenger numbers. They appear to be on an upswing, though, with Eugene surging from the 600,000-mark in the late-00's toward a million passengers last year.

This is a notable development, since the 1 million mark is usually considered a sign of a "larger" airport rather than merely a "local" one. This would be Oregon's first new million-passenger airport since Portland International crossed the threshold decades ago.

Current Oregon airport facts (including June 2015 to June 2016 passenger numbers), from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics and other sources:

...

Other than that, there are is Boise Airport (BOI), a large facility with 3,130,000 passengers over the same June-June 2015-2016 period, about 50 miles from the Oregon border. Or the Kennewick-Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) in southeastern Washington, with 724,000 passengers. Walla Walla (ALW) in Washington is a smaller 88,000-passenger airport with service to Seattle, while Crescent City-Del Norte County Airport (CEC) - 10 miles south of Oregon - sent 13,500 passengers mainly to Portland.

Some Oregon airports like Salem and Newport still haven't recovered their pre-financial-crisis commercial air service, but overall, the trend in Oregon commercial aviation seems to be steady increase.
