Lol, I guess starting off disappointed would ease the mystery. That way your hopes don't get dashed. Mickeysoft, haha that was funny. The other day the W10 failed for most of the updates. I had to let it do them the next day which took forever. I can't imagine how long it would take at a slower speed . But I had to do the updates since it was acting so weird without them. It even acted funny afterwards too. Took a whole other day before it settled down. It's fine now. Firefox updates can be horrible too.

Earlier tonight I had found my way over to the La Grande newspaper, and found an interesting Opinion piece on rural digital internet access. This may be of interest to those of you who are "ruralites".

I bought my machine specifically with W7. I've hung on to it. So far no problems. I go by "If'n it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

Agreed, lot's of people were perfectly happy with W7. Microbrain has a bad habit of stopping support for some older OS like WXP. That's how they force you to cooperate. I hope they don't do that with W7, or have they.

Did anyone else open this thread yesterday, and got a virus warning for skyrunner.net?

As I said on that other thread to answer your recent post. There is NO link to skyrunner in my post above here. No skyrunner dot net as you claim.

You misunderstood my reply on my post. I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the person you were quoting when they said that conservatives were ignorant. I guess you thought I was telling you off. We are on the same page. Here is my response to you from that thread "Is eastern Oregon Viable":

"Stop making things up. I wasn't promoting anything! We were discussing internet speeds in the country, and what certain speeds were good for. I had been researching a town in the mountains of NC in Haywood country, and this internet service was on their Chamber of Commerce website. I copied, and pasted the part about speeds, and what you could do with each speed to be helpful.

I have 3 different anti virus programs including Malwarebytes which have never picked up anything. Besides there was NO link provided. Only the info on speeds, and what they could be used for that I copied, and pasted. That would be impossible to be infected. Sorry, but you will have to come up with something else to complain about.

P.S. No, I just checked. There is no link to skyrunner in my post, and it is impossible to click on it since there is no dot net anywhere. You had to look that up. And that company isn't even in Oregon so how could I be promoting it? It's only in certain counties in far western NC. Ridiculous!"

This is the post in question, and your response. When I quoted this it left off Mary's post which made it less clear. I was responding to what she said as you were. It sounded like you are conservative as I am. Sorry if I was wrong.

Thank you back.
Yes, I realize you didn't provide a skyrunner link, etc. As I said, I didn't click on anything.
But the warning came up anyway, repeatedly, until I closed out and ran a virus scan. It hasn't come up since.
We're good.

I so sorry wolfdog for getting on the defensive. I thought that you thought I was angry at you when I was just defending against liberal attacks, or something like that, lol. And I didn't want to get in trouble with the mods anymore. I should have responded to the actual post instead of yours, my mistake. After exercising, and a beer I feel a little better, lol.

Yeah, some anti virus scans are overly sensitive for some reason, and freak out over nothing. Sometimes I think they want it to look like they are doing their job. I think it should be ok since it came from a chamber of commerce, this one.

https://haywoodchamber.com/

I had a horrible divorce a couple months ago, and ended up in Raleigh NC at my daughter's after moving cross country from the Olympic Peninsula, and it isn't a good fit. I now have to live on just my skimpy SS, and don't know where to go. I have an application in up in Boone NC in the mountains for hud senior housing, but I miss the west. So I'm checking out different places, and trying to save. So if you see me talking about different places that's why. I fell in love with Baker City, and now it's La Grande because it's a little greener, and has a walmart. Idk, one of these days I'll make up my weak mind, lol.

Again I apologize for the misunderstanding.

My best regards ~ Claudia
