Eola Hills, anything above 400ft will have more snow and have it longer than below that elevation.
Oddly on hard freezing days, 400 ft and above, there is an inversion (warm) air layer that keeps us from a hard freeze while the lower level does hard freeze.
Nice view of Cascades and depending on location, Mt St Helens to Mt Jefferson.
$250 may buy our place. We bought another place in Washington where we won't have view other than the apartments across the street

In answer to your questions.. I've traveled through Oregon a few times and found it to be beautiful! There are several reasons I think I would like it there. The lower cost of living, mild winters and the beauty of the state.

My conundrum is, I don't have time to visit all the areas in the state before I have to move, so I am hopeful to get as much info as possible by researching online. Then it is my intent to fly up for a weekend and look at homes. My budget is 250k, no kids.. just me and the hub who is disabled. I work remotely from home so I won't need to worry about a commute, however I need to be near medical care.

I've been searching areas around Eugune, such as Sweethome and Springfield but am completely unsure of the terrain or views.

My husband would like something as I described in my original post so I'd like to fulfill his wish list the best I can. Any thoughts of specific towns I should focus on would be greatly appreciated.

TIA
Try Google Maps and Streetview to learn about the terrain and views. But I strongly urge you to visit before making a decision to move anywhere. I would have made a lot of bad moves in my lifetime, if I had moved without visiting first.
