You're probably are better off staying in New Jersey. Not much of the kind of culture your looking for except Portland or Eugene and maybe Ashland. Not too many good paying jobs and cost of living is higher than you may like. Discrimination is the least of your concerns.

You are right, that was not Portland, but Portland does have forests too. That's a pretty typical scene anywhere in Oregon, except for the Eastern half of the state.

Yeah I guess so. Ferns make it look allot like the coast range but it could be the Cascades. I'm more of a East Sider but lived in Portland and outside Springfield for while. Too much rain for me.
