The lake is actually dying, some day it will be a marsh.

The lakes (Upper Klamath and Agency) have always had a bit of an algae overgrowth problem, historically speaking, but the leaking septic systems and ag runoff from alfalfa and cattle ranches made it much, much worse since about the 1950s.

There is a "nutritional blue green algae" harvested from the lake and sold as a supplement and one quick sniff of the lake would be enough to keep you from ever buying it, I don't care how much "refining" they do.

I ran across this in a "for sale" group. Small lots along the Sprague River, cheap. It would be a great spot to park an RV, for way less than the cost of the RV.

We stayed the night at Eagle Ridge County Park and didn't notice any bad smells.
However, our noses might have been full of midges!
