People tend to think life ends at Labor Day, but there are still lots of things going on.

Fall Events in Oregon

Wineries and brewers also have autumn festivities.

There is an AKC dog show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds this weekend and the Roseburg Rod and Gun Club gun and knife show at the fairgrounds on the 14th and 15th.

It puts me in mind of Another Roadside Attraction. Before they built I-5, old 99 had something going on every few miles.

Fall is a great time to get ready for the 6+ months of fun in the snow we have coming our way! With the cooling temps I like to do a lot of hiking and mountain biking before the snow hits.

A couple of festivals coming up in Bend.

Southern Oregon, from Klamath Falls to the Rogue Valley, Applegate and South Coast:

Fall is beautiful here. Mild weather, hopefully clear skies (the lightning storms in the past week have started several new fires, but hopefully they are under control), the rains don't normally start until Thanksgiving or thereabouts.

Has anyone ever attended Octoberfest in Mt. Angel? It's coming up next weekend. That's been on my to-do list but fall weekends are always hugely busy with youth sports and such so I've never gotten around to it. Maybe this year.

Mt Angel fest is quite good (can be very crowded).
For interfacing with youth sports... head down on Sunday late morning
https://www.oktoberfest.org/schedule...l-oktoberfest/

Friday / Saturday evening might have some more entertainment.
We have done local farm stays and hit both sessions. We avoid main day event / parking / traffic (usually Saturday - mid-day)

There are more fun fests here:

https://www.brewbound.com/beerevents...rs-oktoberfest

(Oaks Park is handy location and can be great for family.) Bring / rent roller skates.

Oktoberfest

Fall fests also include some great quilt shows!

But... (for me) October means GREAT RED sunsets at Oregon coast.

Take a designated driver. The Biergarten is a hoot. After a few you can really get into the polka music, and one of the guys let me play his alpenhorn. There are lots of less-than-healthy foods, but the Germans really make the best wurst.

Really, you need a designated driver. If you do Okoberfest right, you will be in no condition to get behind the wheel.
