I have just been to my local one once but it looks to be good for most of the things I would get at walmart, if there was one in my town. Things like office supplies, toilet paper, that I can get at Fred Meyer but are too expensive there.

Bi-mart is new to me, never having lived where there was one before so I'm wondering what you like to shop for there.

I'm making a list and heading there this afternoon!

I'm not a Bi-Mart member/shopper but I have walked thru with others a couple times. Do you need a Bi-Mart Membership Card to shop there? What are the advantages of having one of those? Just curious.

Every month Bi-mart sends me a little booklet showing different items that the price has been lowered, for sale.
If i remember correctly, it was $5 for a lifetime membership.
Bi-Mart has many items you would also find at Walmart.

yes, it is a $5 one-time membership fee for life but it's worth it to me for not having to drive to the next town (30 minutes on the freeway) for a walmart. so many things that cost too much at Fred Meyer!

The best place for bare root fruit trees. A good place for bedding flowers in the spring.

Always walk around the shelf and see what the canned food specials are for excellent prices on useful stuff.

Plastic storage bins, paint, small appliances, good pharmacy, good place for vaccinations. Best place for extension cords and smoke alarms. Decent place for pet supplies.

It was always the cheapest place for good quality layer mash.

Possibly the very best place in the PNW to buy fishing supplies. They sell quality name brand rods and reels that are designed for fishing in the PNW, plus a nice selection of cheaper stuff for kids and people who just want a one day experience. So far, every time I've been into a BiMart, the sports counter person knows what he is talking about, which is a big improvement on some of the sporting goods stores.

I think that every fisherman I know shops at BiMart for equipment.

I've been a member since the late 70's, don't shop there for much, but sometimes they have a good sale, I like "Lucky Tuesdays", now and then I win something. My wife worked for them for a short time liked it but found a job she liked better.

When it snows, Bi-Mart always has the best supply of tire chains, at least in my experience.

I wait for Bi-Mart sales on motor oil and oil filters, plus other automotive supplies. Furnace filters. Rattle can paint and painting supplies like duct tape and masking tape. Small kitchen appliances. Generic painkillers like ibuprofen, and generic cold medicine. Bedding plants. Shotgun and .22 ammunition.

Most important to me is "Employee-Owned", thus I am supporting the local economy / employer who has ties and commitment to my community. https://www.bimart.com/careers/why-work-for-us
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bi-Mart

Typically... customer service and quality would be BETTER at Employee Owned Companies. But... does not always work out so well... (Burley...) Worker Cooperative (different than a ESOP,)https://www.jstor.org/stable/10.5403...n_tab_contents

I use the 'sale-booklets' often to buy auto batteries, Chain Bar oil, Car Filters...

Electronics and Sporting Goods / camping can be very good and inexpensive at BiMart

Plant and Garden as mentioned is good too.

GI Joes (Another Oregon Company that bit the dust)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G.I._Joe%27s

Basically, another 'Thriftway' affiliate (R.I.P) lost more OR stores just this weekend,
Thanks Norm for your community commitments to PNW, when it really mattered and provided thousands of jobs and opportunities for suppliers / local businesses and great products as possible to stay competitive.

We've tragically become a Walmart nation. As in abandoned small towns in SE USA... empty storefronts, but CHEAP goods (if they have what you need), Profit flees, and community support / sponsorship is gone.
