Not sure if it has been five years yet but pretty close to it.
They aren't supper thick but are very strong, easy to keep clean and if I accidentally left one on top of our car for example, they wouldn't easily blow around like the crappy ones the stores used way back in 2019. Therefore, it might not end up in our waterways and out into the ocean.
They are just like these in the link below that you can now buy for 99 cents at Fred Meyers but they have a different design on them. If I am remembering right, they cost us 89 cents each when we bought them, which means that after using them just 18 times, they were paid off and we started getting paid to use them at WinCo.
