I was planning on moving to a small town out in Oregon. Preferably in the middle of nowhere really. Any jobs are not a problem, I will do anything. I can live anywhere when it comes to housing, as long as it's cheap. I don't care about climate or anything. Any suggestions?

How close to a big town or city do you want to be?

I have lived in what I considered to be the middle of no where, in areas around John Day, Burns, and Fossil. There aren't a ton of jobs, but there are jobs there. People are few and far between, and living expenses are low. However, it is a trek to any larger town for things you might need not available locally.

I don't want to be close to any large town at all.
I forgot to mention i'd like to live in a rather cold area, but it's fine.

All of those areas I mentioned get pretty cold, with some snow and a lot of freezing temperatures. The specific towns I mentioned are the bigger towns with at least a grocery store, but there are smaller communities all around. It really is a neat place to live.

I used to live out by Mulino......wwwaaayyyy the heck out in the middle of nowhere....I loved the silence....well, til the coyotes started to howl..that can be eerie...seeing deer in my yard was neat enough, til they started eating my gardens...bunnies were cute, but finding bear tracks 25ft from my front door, not as cute...
anyhow, its a beautiful area.....
ZigZag is neat and remote....
So is Joseph, in a totally different way...
how big of a homestead are you wanting?
trees and forest, or more deserty?
Ocean near by, or mountains that look like the Alps?

Homestead? I could live in a 2x4 ****house and be perfectly happy.
Desert...not so much. Trees...yes, as long as I'm not completely surrounded. I would like stay away from the ocean. Alps would be fine.
