I am a 28 year old single male who loves the outdoors, especially hiking. I am looking to relocate to Oregon and am looking for advice/information regarding the best towns/cities in Oregon to fit my interests. A nice place for me would be near the mountains and plenty of hiking and have a younger population, plenty of local culture, people who love the outdoors, and have a decent amount of sunny days. I greatly appreciate your help. Thanks.

I would highly recommend Bend as well. My husband and I are in our early
30's and have decided to make the move from Colorado out there. We went over spring break and fell in love with the place. We were able to go rock climbing and skiing in the same week we were there!

Bend has 5 breweries, lots of outdoorsy people, and the average age is around 30-35. We love Oregon, but didn't want to move west of the Cascades because of the lack of sun. Being from Colorado, we needed to have weather that is comparable. Bend is it!

The one downside is the job prospects. We are fortunate to have pretty mobile careers (teaching and nursing) so jobs look good for us. However, there are plenty of people who move to Bend only to find themself moving again because they couldn't find a decent paying job. Housing is pricey as well, but it does seem to be coming down.

We just sold our house and are on our way next month, yah!!!!

Default Bend

Yes I agree that Bend is a great place. Although it's grown so much in recent years and it's more expensive than other places.
