I know nothing about Oregon. Never visited or lived in. Wanting to possibly relocate or at least visit. Can anyone in Oregon tell me about a town that is over 30K with lots of history that has four full seasons since I like snow, but yet don't want to be too high in the mountains. Does any area in particular fit this descripton?

I don't know that Bend has a lot of history, but it is over 30,000 people and gets snow.

"Lots" of history isn't so easy to come by in Oregon, compared to the Mississippi Valley eastward, as it's only been settled 150 years. And for the first 50 of those, it was really only the Willamette Valley that was much settled. I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as history goes ...

Cities with populations over 30,000 in the valley which were settled early include: Albany, Corvallis, Salem, Eugene, and Portland (and their suburbs). Medford, in the Rogue Valley would also qualify. You'd probably get the most extreme seasons there. Jacksonville, just a few miles out of Medford is a very significant historical town. Bend wasn't really settled by Europeans until after 1900.

Research Grants Pass !

The city's motto is "It's The Climate" for good reason.

Friendly people / low stress / very affordable if you have a steady income / close to other towns / bargains in real estate now / low crime / annual rainfall 39" / snow doesn't last longer than a day / The Rogue River

Bend isn't really 4 seasons...it's 6 months of winter. Elevation is like 3500 feet. On the other hand, the local real estate market is tanking and you might be able to find a good deal.

While I haven't spent any time in Grants Pass and thus can't attest to it, I don't really think there are any areas in Oregon that are truly four seasons. The closest you'll get is definitely on the western side, but it's more of a moderate/temperate climate, so you get cool, rather than cold, winters. But like I said, Grants Pass may be otherwise for all I know.
