If you are looking to relocate to the Roseburg Area and you would like to get accurate information please feel free to send me your questions or post them here. I have been reading the posts from the past and most of them are far from being accurate . I am not 100% sure but I don't think that I have found an instance were the person offering information or insight into the Roseburg area had actually lived in the area at one time or if they were even currently living in the area. So if you want great reliable information about the Roseburg/Douglas County/Southern Oregon areas, send your questions to a Native that can give insight into the area from the past, the present, and an informed speculative future.

Brett Ronk,
We have some questions that you might be able to anwer. Do you know how much it is to hook up to city services (water, sewer) when building a new home and how much is the average cost a month for these for a family of four 3 bedroom 2 bath home?

Well it all depends upon exactly were your new home is going to be located. There are several different water and sewer districts throughout Douglas County and each of them have a vary wide range of charges and hook-up costs. If you can give me an exact area or location that you are considering to live, I will be happy to give you an exact amount for all such items you have asked for.

Default Cost

We were looking at a building lot northeast Roseburg, would that narrow it down enough? Thank you for your help.

Default What's up with the hospital losing money?

Am I correct in reading that the hospital in Roseburg lost about 2 million last year? Got rid of their CEO? Doesn't sound good for those employed there.

Default which to choose--Roseburg or Medford?

hello to all...I have read that Medford has about 20 inches rain annually where as Roseburg gets about 30-ish inches per year...for sunshine and buying a home that is more afforable than the other areas, which town--or proximity would you locals be drawn to? I also mean cost of living ...
Thanks everyone..seems you are slowly narrowing my choices down...

Brent, I live in the Roseburg area, and have for about 20 years. My information is accurate based on years of living here. Make sure you read up before making generalizations.

Default valerian

Brett Ronk,

Hi, I am a native Oregonian and have been away long enough! I'm heading back, more or less, to home ground. I haven't been to Roseburg, however, and would love some info on it.
I will be travelling to Roseburg to check out jobs and housing the last week of September. I am an RN with a college age child and one who is in the 4th grade this coming year.
Mainly, I'd like to know if any of the elementary schools are better recommended so that I can narrow down my housing search to the nieghborhoods around them. I'll be looking for a rental 3 bdrm around $700-900. Preferably not right in the middle of town, and lots of room for a garden at least. I wouldn't mind living in a smaller nearby town either.
Does it cost an arm and a leg to open new accounts for utilities there?

Any words you can give me will be very appreciated!!!

Howdy, sandkitten...

Roseburg doesn't get snow very often unless you were to live at a higher elevation.

Today temps are about 57F
