I'm trying to find a way to get to Eugene, Oregon to visit the UO but my parents don't want to spend a lot of time traveling and they very strongly prefer a no-stop flight but the only one I could find is too expensive.

Fly to PDX and rent a car. The drive is only two hours.

Unfortunately most non stop flights are very expensive. The best deals I get are by using Travelocity.com. Here's how (it's time consuming):

On the right hand of the home page choose your locations (from & to). Then, select the "My Dates Are Flexible" button (do not enter any dates). Then click "search". Select from the list of airlines. When the calender shows up, the underlined blue dates are POSSIBLY dates for the airfare that was shown. From there you have to click on those until you find two that will match the price. See if it's non stop or not. You'll find a hard time getting a non stop flight, but that's the cheapest way to fly.
