My Family Will Be Relocating To The Medford Area. We Have 3 Boys. We Are A Mixed Race Family. I Have Heard That Oregon Is Mostly White. Has Anyone Heard Of Any Problems? Thanks

Whites are the majority in just about any small town in Oregon. Medford is no different.

From what I have read, Oregon sounds pretty liberal, so you should not have any issues.

Southern Oregon is not liberal.

You will have no problems. Unless you are drug dealers, liers, cheats, or horrible people.

Even conservatives can accept people for who they are, if you are honest, hard working, and family balanced, you will love it and fit in just fine.

Mixed race is not a problem in Southern Oregon. Bad people are a problem everywhere.

Welcome to Medford. Be good.

We moved here temporarily, now moving back north.

Medford is a very friendly and receptive area. You should have no trouble.

Check out the climate for the various cities if it matters.

We are in Ruch, with a Jacksonville address, on Medfords west - we get 8 more inches of rain than Medford.

Grants Pass gets almost 12 inces more rain than Medford - nicer area too.

Medford's central city sits in a lot of fog in the winter. get on the fringes if you want more winter sun.

My best friend from this area has a bi-racial daughter and she has been totally accepted her whole life by friends and the community. It is not even an issue here with her. While there's not a lot of mixed races, there's some in each school and community and I haven't heard of seen any problems with it at all.

People in Oregon are accepting of pretty much anyone. We're an independent bunch and about the only thing we don't like is someone forcing themselves or their beliefs and values on us. I doubt anyone will really care about your bi-racial children.

And I must take exception to the comment earlier that "even conservatives can accept people for who they are". This suggests that liberals automatically accept anyone and conservatives automatically don't. I have never found such a thing to be completely true. I've met some very accepting conservatives and some very hateful liberals.
