We are moving to the Eugene area and would like to know what we can do for a day trip or 3 day weekend camping trip. We want to explore the whole state and we want to know about the some of the lesser visited places to. Pictures would really be nice to.

Eugene is very well positioned for exploration trips in all directions: west, northwest and southwest to the coast, north and northeast to Portland , the gorge and the wine country, south to the Thousand Valleys of the Umpqua, the Rogue Valley and Crater Lake, east to the Cascades, the Bunchgrass Empire and all the way to the Wallowas and the Snake River Canyon if you want. Southeast to Steens Mt. for a taste of northern Nevada in Oregon. There are literally hundreds of options and you'll learn about them slowly. Even after you've lived in Eugene for 10 years, you'll still be learning about new places you didn't previously know about that are within a day's drive. Then there's southern Washington and northern California...
