Ok, so I've narrowed my search for a different state to live in to Oregon, and then narrowed down the city to Albany, and now I'm stuck, because I don't what parts of town are safe, or where things are. I called the Albany Police Department, and was told that the SW side and between 1st and 9th avenues should be avoided, and that eh SE side, and near LBCC is better. I am looking at the Albany Meadows (linked) but I'm not sure what part of town it is or what kind of place it is. It looks nice, but looks can be deceiving. If anyone knows of a better place, could you please let me know? My income limit is about $600 - $700/month for rent (at least one utility included if its on the higher end would be better) and I need at least a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, although 1.5 or 2 would be better. The closer to LBCC (or another college, if in a nearby town), the better. Any other information you can give me about it would be awesome too. Thanks for info in advance!

Judging from the address shown in the link, looks like it's on Pacific Blvd., roughly 15 blocks north of LBCC. In relation to town, to get to downtown or Heritage Mall area, follow Pacific Blvd. north (it curves to the east). Easy access to downtown via the exit next to the train terminal. Or skip the exit and go over the overpass to merge into 9th street to get to Heritage Mall. How familiar are you with Albany? Looks pretty nice and should be a pretty good area. Not sure what utilities are included, if any. Looks like it might be on a lease basis. You can call them for info.

I literally only know what I've seen on this site, other sites talking about it, and the city website. I have never been to Oregon, and my first visit will be when I move there. I don't know anything in terms of the roads, etc. That's kinda why I'm reaching out to the people on here, who actually DO know the city.

Albany Meadows are really nice We have friends who live in them and we're considering moving into them as well. My bestie pays 595/mo for a two bedroom, one bath. $400 deposit, 1/2 off first month's rent. Pet deposit is $500. Jessi said she heard they don't allow puppies, because of peeing on carpets, etc, but are okay with grown dogs and there are no breed restrictions. You pay electricity and water. They have washer/dryer hookups. Security cameras in the parking lots, so it should be relatively safe. And it's just down the street from LBCC, maybe a ten minute walk, three or four minute drive. I've made that walk tons of times and it's not bad at all. The mall and movie theater are maybe ten minutes away. The apartments are also right by 7-11 and a pretty awesome bowling alley (that I hear now has miniature golf, but I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know for sure) that are even closer than LBCC.
They also have a pool and I read somewhere that they have a fitness center, but I haven't seen it.
And the insides of the apartments are REALLY nice. They're not super high end or anything, but for being so cheap, they are amazing and fairly spacious.

Hi:

We live in the SW side of Albany near LBCC and we like it. We live at the Willow Creek Apartments and the rent is reasonable. You can google them and see if this is something you would like.

Good luck!
