Homesick in NC
Spring has arrived on the east coast - my first spring here since moving from Yamhill County in February. Although I am homesick - I will always love Oregon - spring sure is pretty here, too. The dogwoods just finished blooming, azaleas are still in bloom, and I never heard so many songbirds in my life. Yeah, we had a bad cold snap a couple weeks ago, but now it's in the 80's again. I don't miss the rain, but I do miss the rainbows, and the way the fog settles in patches in the hills, the glorious "sunbreaks".....it's flat as a pancake where I live now. But I guess every place has its own beauty - you just have to look for it. You don't have to look too hard in Oregon, tho!
