Why is Oregon getting hit so hard?

I'm looking at this:
Google - public data
...and wondering what simple variable can account for why some places have done worse than others.

Is it the states that blew up biggest with housing before the collapse?
Those are the ones suffering most?

I know the UR in the PNW was high to begin with but that doesn't explain how they seem to be pulling away from other states unemployment rates.

Or maybe I'm seeing it all wrong.

Cool I'm Curious Too.

Yes, I am curious too as to why Oregon's unemployment is so high. Florida's housing market is largely what's behind the decline here, but what is driving Oregon's?

Peace All,
