I am considering a move to Oregon. My work would be in Tigard. I was hoping to find out what the commute time would look like from Newberg to Tigard. Any insight?

Newberg and Tigard are maybe 15 miles apart, if that. Your commute time will vary depending on where in Newberg and where in Tigard and the times of day you will be driving. It can take as little as 20 minutes or it could take a lot longer.

I am curious. Newberg appears to be a nice town and I see the appeal... but ... your job is in Tigard, also a nice town and very liveable. Maybe its me but I can see the point if it was the housing that came first but when one has the good fortune to know where they will be working I don't always understand the urge to live at a distance from it. 15mi is not trivial, it is the better part of a gallon of gas: each way. It will add up. Winter weather will annoy you much more than it needs to. There is more in the equation than simply commute time. FWIW.

The lower end of the housing spectrum in Newberg is far cheaper than Tigard.
