I am looking to move near the oregon coast with my family including 2 girls ages 12 & 14. I really like Newport and my second choice is Florence My wife & I will retire soon so a job is not important. We plan to rent a house and the proximity to an ocean view is not as important as the price of the rent. Again, school is the most critical item for us at this time.

I would imagine that Newport has some of the best schools on the coast because of all the educated people from OSU and the Aquarium/Marine Science Center who live there, plus the community college faculty.
