This idea sparked from the debate about Miami. You can have some of the same arguments for Miami for Orlando as well. Where is the line drawn for southernness in you peoples opinions for the state of Florida?

We have a major tourist sector, but that does not make it any less southern than Atlanta or Charlotte. We may not have the "Southern Economy" but that does not make it a NON southern city. MY question is to you (With Valid Arguments) why/why not is Orlando a southern city?

Because it's in the south, I'm sick of arguing this geography vs. culture stuff, I'm just going to start thinking geographically from now on.

exactly what my first post said I was afraid of an answer like this. Until somebody gives a Valid argument of why Orlando and Miami or Any Florida city (Except Panhandle and Jacksonville) is southern than people from out of state should not classify.

I know one thing, you can be ANYWHERE in Florida and travel inland and see some country ass people. If you stick to the coasts though it definitely changes. I mean look at a religious map of America, Florida has Baptists going all the way around the middle of the state, but if you look at the coasts they are all Catholic.

Orlando is a southern city obviously because its in the South. Culturally, the urban metro of Orlando is not southern at all because the majority of the people are northern transplants and transplants from other areas of the US/world. But if you go out to small towns outside of the urban area you will see southern culture and hear southern accents.

Orlando is where Southern culture ends in Florida, in my opinion.
