Hello, I'm doing some research on Florida as I plan to move there within the next year.

I'm a 29-year-old single guy. I'm mainly interested in east coast Florida because of the beach lifestyle. I know the gulf beaches may be a little cleaner / calmer, but I'm a sucker for the waves and surfing so I need to on the east coast. I am considering Melbourne, Vero Beach, and Cocoa Beach ... but I'm open to all suggestions.

Here is what I'm looking for in a city, generally speaking:

--Great beach (obviously)

--Not too sound racist but I prefer an area that is predominately white.

--Plenty to do. I'm not a club or dance person, but I do like a variety in restaurants (both upscale and casual), bars, sports, music, shopping.

--Where the people are relatively young. (I don't want a retirement haven.)

--Water park. One of the main reasons I'm considering Melbourne is its proximity to Orlando where they have some of the best. I'd like to take my nieces and nephews there when they come to visit.

--An area where I can meet some new friends and potentially a significant other. (I'm straight.)

I run my own business (e-commerce based) so getting a job is not a requirement. I would like to coach high school basketball though someday, but I'm sure there will be plenty of schools wherever I settle on.

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I offended anyone with any of my preferences.
